| The 23-year old vocalist, who is being acclaimed as the next big thing in the
field of female jazz singers, will be appearing on Later with Jools - 8th & 11th
October - with her trio following a date at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club on 7th
October. She's also recording a session for Jamie Cullum's BBC Radio 2 show
which will be broadcast later in October.
Cecile McLorin Salvant blends the sounds and styles of modern jazz with a complete
command of the classic blues and early American vocal tradition. She draws on littleknown
songs spanning centuries of American music that aren't recognized as standards,
