The American rock band Kansas released their self-titled debut album in 1974. The material on the album is compiled by selecting songs from the two former groups out of which Kansas formed. Their first album is a mix of the boogie music and progressive rock. In the progressive field they were one of the first bands to incorporate these complex parts within their music. The first epic from the album is called "Journey from Mariabronn", which starts off with classical influences before introducing the organ, guitars and violin.
