The story of Anvil goes back to the early roots of Heavy Metal. Anvil was a true pioneer of this genre of music beginning their career in the late 70's. This Canadian band was an inspiration for bands such as Slayer and Metallica, however, not so long ago, they were on the verge of disappearing. When Aerosmith manager David Krebs came into the picture in 1983 the band was ready for their breakthrough. This never happened. Somewhere down the line Krebs lost interest en things went downhill from there. Early 2009 a documentary about the band was released. "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" was a great success and it brought the band the acknowledgement they so deserved. [...more...]
