The British DJ, Buzzin' Fly boss, Everything But The Girl member and serial collaborator has certainly kept busy over his long career. Surprisingly, though, Hendra is Watt's first solo full-length since 1983. He describes the album, which he worked on with producer Ewan Pearson and ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, as "simply a folkrock record in an electronic age," with "languid folk, distorted rock and fizzing electronics" forging the vibe. The record, which is set for April release through a new label he's starting called Unmade Road, features quite a big special guest: David Gilmour from Pink Floyd lends slide guitar and backing vocals to "The Levels." |
