Their breakthrough concept album is based on the eponymous book by Paul Gallico.


One of Camel's bandmembers suggested doing an entire album based on a book. A number of books were eligible but the emotional appeal to The Snow Goose by Paul Gallico was so strong they started writing and recording a concept album that would portray their vision of the story. The result, the instrumental The Snow Goose, turned out to be their breakthrough.

This masterpiece climbed to the Top-30 of the British charts, it earned Melody Maker's Brightest Hope award and firmly established the band with a strong and loyal fanbase. [...more...]
