| Zespół Clannad (w gaelickim to "rodzina") założyło rodzeństwo Moya, CiarĄn i Pól Brennanowie oraz ich stryjowie Noel i PĄdraig Dugganowie. Szybko skład poszerzył się o Enyę Brennan, która później z powodzeniem prowadziła solową karierę. Łącząc elementy tradycyjnej irlandzkiej muzyki ze współczesnym folkiem, new age i rockiem, stworzyli piękne, unikatowe brzmienie pełne porywających melodii i wspaniałych głosów. Rozgłos przyniósł grupie "Theme From Harry's Game", czyli temat przewodni do miniserialu "Harry's Game", który później wykorzystano w filmie "Czas patriotów" i nagrodzono statuetką Ivor Novello.
