| Father John Misty powraca z nową muzyką! Większość materiału na "Pure Comedy" została napisana w 2015 roku i nagrana (najpierw na taśmę!) w United Studios (nagrywali tam m.in. Frank Sinatra czy The Beach Boys) w Los Angeles, już w roku 2016. Współproducentem albumu był - oprócz Josha Tillmana we własnej osobie - Johnathan Wilson. Za miksy odpowiedzialny jest sam Tillman, którego wsparł Wilson, ale także Trevor Spencer. Masteringiem zajął się Bob Ludwig z Gateway Mastering Studios. Na albumie usłyszymy instrumentarium wszlekiego rodzaju od smyków, po trąbki, a wszystko to zostało zaaranżowane przez Gavina Bryarsa (Jesus Blood Never Failed Me Yet, Sinking Of The Titanic, a gościnnie pojawiają się Nico Muhly i Thomas Bartlett.
