Album wypełnia 16 utworów zarejestrowanych podczas czterech występów amerykańskiego zespołu, które odbyły się w 1994, 1996, 1998 i 2001 roku w legendarnych studiach Maida Vale w Londynie. Cztery miesiące po premierze "Dookie", dokładnie 8 czerwca 1994 roku, Green Day weszli do osławionego studia BBC, by wykonać utwory "She, "When I Come Around", "Basket Case" i "2000 Light Years". Właśnie podczas tej wizyty wymyślili tytuł piosenki "Armatage Shanks" otwierającej kolejną płytę "Insomniac".
