Koncert 'Live' at the Village Vanguard (Impulse! AS-10) nagrany w Nowy Jorku w klubie Village Vanguard w dniach 2/3 listopada 1961 roku, był pierwszym oficjalnym albumem LIVE Coltrane'a. Mistrzowi towarzyszą tu Eric Dolphy (klarnet basowy) McCoy Tyner (fortepian), Elvin Jones (perkusja), Reggie Workman i Jimmy Garrison (kontrabas). Co ważne - obecność Jimmy Garrisona na albumie zapoczątkowała okres w twórczości Coltrane'a nazywany później jako 'Classic Quartet'.
Seria wznowień winylowych Acoustic Sounds jest produkowana i remasterowana z analogowych oryginalnych taśm masterowanych przez Ryan K. Smiha w Sterling Sound i wydawana na 180-gramowych płytach (QPR). Produkcja serii jest nadzorowana przez Chada Kassem, CEO of Acoustic Sounds.
