In addition to its undoubted musical, vocal, and poetic qualities, "Bratricku, zavirej vratka" (Little Brother, Close the Door) also became a symbol for the social context around 1968 and beyond. By fate, Karel Kryl was given only a very brief concert contact with Czech and Slovak audiences, and this album was given only its first print run and banned after Kryl's emigration in the autumn of 1969.
