The awful news that came through on Thursday 25th June 2009, announcing the premature death of Michael Jackson, was received with the same kind of shock and disbelief as when similar fates met Princess Diana, John Lennon and JFK. That the media focussed on his enormous talent, exceptional music and unquestionable generosity in the wake of this tragedy, rather than any of the negative publicity Jackson has suffered over the past decade, shows some professional restraint and tasteful reporting for a change.
This 2 disc set is a fitting tribute to Michael - quite possibly the finest performer the world has ever witnessed - and features a 70 minute DVD documentary about Michael's life, and a full disc of interviews with the man himself recorded across his career. [...more...]
