A career high point and many a fan's favourite Naz album, Malice In Wonderland (1980) balanced the group's hard rock energy with a polished, radio-friendly approach that reaped dividends on both rockers and ballads alike and successfully introduced a number of new instruments - like vibraphone - into the Nazareth sound palette. It was produced by Jeff Skunk' Baxter of Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan fame and the sound remains a marvel of clarity and texture to this day. Singer Dan McCafferty particularly likes the album because it was such a departure from the band's trademark approach.
