This amazing concert presents the great Oscar Peterson performing in his native city of Montreal, in Quebec, Canada (where he was born on August 15, 1925), ten days after his 40th birthday. The show took place at an important turning point in Peterson's trio, as drummer Ed Thigpen - who had been with the band for many years - had just quit the group. Their final recorded concert took place on May 29, 1965 at Tivoli Gardens, in Copenhagen, Denmark. [...more...]
