| Joseph Willam Perkins, also known as Pinetop Perkins, winner of three Grammy Awards and the beloved mento of many a Blues pianist, passed away in March 2011, four months shy of his 98th birthday. Without a doubt, this new album - a neverreleased studio recording from his heyday when he was 'only' 73 - is a little slice of 'Heaven'. A beautiful and intimate piece of work, that has the added vocals of Willie Smith (possibly his last recording, as he passed away in September 2011) and Otis Clay, 'Heaven' is a tribute to a mighty Blues artist!
