Teksty zespołu oscylują w takich tematach jak religia oraz istota człowieczeństwa. Formacja zadebiutowała w 1995 roku, za sprawą albumu "Goddess Principle". W 2001 roku ukazał się szósty w dorobku studyjny album Amerykanów, "Book Of The Dead".
Steel Prophet is one of the few bands who didn't give up on their way to success and patiently trained to improve their skills with each next release. The 2001 album, "Book of the Dead" was their most versatile, complete and mature performance to date.
