Steve Hackett to jeden z największych indywidualistów i najbardziej oryginalnych gitarzystów w historii rocka. W 1970 roku został członkiem Genesis, filarem tego składu grupy, który dziś uznawany jest za klasyczny. Jego wyjątkowy styl gry na gitarze - skomplikowany lecz zawsze pełen elegancji - stał się jednym ze znaków firmowych zespołu.
