| Sufjan Stevens przejdzie bez wątpienia do historii, jeśli starczy mu życia i talentu, by zrealizować 50 albumow, poświęconych 50 stanom Ameryki. Druga z tego cyklu płyta, poświęcona Illinois, każe życzyć Stevensowi długiego życia, by swoj projekt doprowadził do konca.
W 2003 roku powstał pierwszy z owych stanowych albumow, "Greetings From Michigan: The Great Lakes State" i został uznany za jedno z najważniejszych wydarzen muzycznych na niezależnej scenie.
