| Tygers of Pan Tang debuted back in 1980 out of England, and were a part of the prominent NWOBHM movement. The band broke up in the late '80s and was dormant for over a decade; upon reviving the name in 2000, guitarist Rob Weir was the only original member still around. Considering all of these factors, it's no wonder that the current incarnation of the group sounds very little like it did in the '80s. In fact, the closest comparison now would be the Chicago-based group of the mid '90s, Radakka. Many of the vocal inflections and melodies are spot-on, and there are plenty of thick chops, chunky rhythms, and slight time changes. Any fans of that band should definitely check out this release.
