Po wydanym w 2008 roku DVD i Blu-Ray "Black Symphony" udowadniającym, że można w tak płynny sposób połączyć muzykę symfoniczną z gotyckim rockiem, Within Temptation z czarującą Sharon den Adel na czele wyruszyli na krótką, akustyczną trasę koncertową po Holandii. Zespół odwiedził, małe kluby i teatry, gdzie intymna atmosfera tych miejsc idealnie nadawała się na klimat prezentowanych piosenek WT w wersji akustycznej. Na scenie obok zespołu stanęli również goście: Anneke van Giersbergen, Keith Caputo, a także Chris Jones, który wespół z Sharon wykonał singlowy, promujący niniejszy album utwór "Utopia". Materiał na płytę zarejestrowany został 30 listopada w holenderskim Eindhoven.
