| Back in 1958, Bob Thompson was a young arranger and conductor from California with the firm belief that the unexpected is exciting. If music is going to be fun¦he reasoned¦it ought to have surprises. With that in mind, he created a jazz-influenced choral-orchestral sound he could justifiably call his own. The chorus, thanks to Thompson's astute conception, became an integrated section of the orchestra. This collection presents the three great albums he recorded for RCA Victor, including a batch of choice standards and several of Thompson's own compositions, all light-hearted and with the infectious flavor that was his signature.
