| The whole black metal meets post-rock/shoegaze element that has infiltrated a certain sect of the black metal underground has become a widely known movement amongst several bands (i.e. ALCEST and AMESOEURS are usually the first that come to mind). But before people started to really take note of this movement within the underground black metal scene and before it really took off, the UK's CAINA has been tampering with such influences since the band's inception as a primitive raw one-man black metal band. Began solely by Andrew Curtis Brignell while still in his teens, the young British musician already had this unique vision manifested by combining the likes of raw primitive black metal and indie-rock/shoegaze/4AD influences, combining and mixing such influences before it became this trend where countless dime-adozen bands today attempt to incorporate and mix such genres in their own typically executed music.
