For many underground musicians and fans there is only one Devastation from the USA. The one from Chicago, one of the founding fathers of death metal. The first demo features vocalist Troy Dixler, who was one of the first singers using the growl / grunt, nowadays the normal death metal vocal style. Back then his ultra-low growls were revolutionary. Dixler formed Sindrome after he left Devastation. The band recorded another demo in 1986 and an unreleased LP in 1987 named Dispensible Bloodshed'.
