| New Orleans has a special place in the history of jazz, and The Dukes of
Dixieland have a special place in the story of New Orleans. Continuing the
success that Jasmine Records had with their first outing with the Dukes, â¶The
Fabulous Sound Of...' (JASCD721), they have selected in chorological order the
next four LPs that were issued on the AFSD record label.
The repertoire on the first album includes selections such as "Swanee River", "Dinah", "Bill
Bailey Won't You Please Come Home" and the seminal "Alexander's Ragtime Band". The
next set of selections find the Dukes in the full Mardi Gras spirit, listen to them on
"Panama Rag", "If I Ever Cease To Love", "Loveless Love" and "Do You Know What It
Means To Miss New Orleans?" theme song of The Dukes Of Dixieland, which is presented
