Album "21st Century Breakdown" to zbiór szesnastu kompozycji podzielonych na trzy części: "Heroes and Cons", "Charlatans and Saints", "Horseshoes and Handgrenades". Pierwszy singiel promujący płytę nosi tytuł "Know Your Enemy" swoją premierę w Polsce miał 11 maja i od tego czasu konsekwentnie zdobywa listy przebojów.
