| Marlene Dietrich had a long and versatile career in the entertainment business. The German-American star, who traded on her exotic appearance and seductive persona, was one of the most famous female Hollywood movie stars of the thirties. After World War II, she went on to become a cabaret entertainer and singing siren with a sung-and-spoken vocal delivery that, combined with her unmistakable German accent, made her performances inimitable.
