In Los Angeles, under the wing of Johnny Otis, the bandleader, producer, writer, arranger, and impresario he also learned the Blues mastery of great guitarists such as Johnny Guitar Watson. In the 60s Roy Buchanan performed as a sideman with various Rock bands while also grabbing session work.
