Zespoł Scar Symmetry narodził się w 2004 roku, gdy Jonas Kjellgren (Carnal Forge, Centinex, World Below), Henrik Ohlsson (Theory In Practice, Mutant, Altered Aeon), Per Nilsson (Altered Aeon), Christian Älvestam (Unmoored, Incapacity, Torchbearer) oraz Kenneth Seil, zdecydowali się połączyć siły w grupie, ktora prezentowałaby świeże spojrzenie na chwytliwy, melodyjny death metal, bez stawiania sobie jakichkolwiek stylistycznych granic. Od debiutanckiej płyty, wydanej w 2005 roku »Symmetric In Design«, minęło dziewięć lat i pięć miesięcy. Minęło bardzo szybko.
