| SMASHING PUMPKINS: Siamese Dream Płyta "Gish" była jak paleta malarza zabierającego się dopiero do roboty. Czerwony jak krew, biały jak kreda, zielony jak wiosenna trawa. Malarz wziął pędzel, pokombinował trochę i wyszły mu barwy nie dające się już opisać tak łatwo, za to oryginalne. Wyszło mu "Siamese Dream". I stropił się malarz, przestępując próg panteonu absolwentów akademii sztuk pięknych, bo dostrzegł wiele małostkowości, snobizmu i nieszczerości. Odczuł też niekorzystny wpływ wysokiego ciśnienia. Zaśpiewał o tym wszystkim w "Cherub Rock" i "Hummer", a w "Today" przyznał nie bez goryczy: "chciałem więcej, niż życie mogło mi zapewnić".
