First series of the BBC cooking show in which chefs Gennaro Contaldo and Antonio Carluccio travel around Italy sampling cuisine. Carluccio and Contaldo left Italy over 40 years ago and are particularly interested in how the nation's cooking practices and habits have altered since their departure. The two chefs take lunch with a family who still consider meals together and the passing of recipes down from mother to daughter central to family life.
