| This comprehensive 10CD set brings together recordings from the early years of the legendary tenor saxophonist Wayne Shorter who is recognised as one of the jazz greats of our time. Making up this collection are Shorter's earliest albums on Vee-Jay together with those recorded as sideman with pianist Wynton Kelly and others for the same label. Also represented is the saxophonist's tenure as musical director with drummer Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, a unit that recorded prolifically in the early 1960's including the classic Blue Note albums The Big Beat and A Night in Tunisia contained in this set.
