| Impossible to overestimate his importance; Willie Dixon was without doubt the ultimate Blues songwriter, sideman, and producer and a monster force in post-war Chicago Blues as well as a decisive influence on modern Rock & Roll. Perhaps one of the first Blues songwriters to benefit in a substantial, gainful way from his work, he helped Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter, Koko Taylor, and others find their most profitably triumphant voices, writing dozens of classic Blues songs, many of which in the 60s and 70s were covered by superstar British rock acts, including the Rolling Stones (Little Red Rooster), Cream (Spoonful) and Led Zeppelin (You Need Love).
