Jako projekt poboczny wokalisty TOOL - Maynarda Jamesa Keenana i jego przyjaciela Billy'ego Howerdela. Pod szyldem A Perfect Circle ukazały się 3 albumy - "Mer de Noms" (2000), "Thirteenth Step" (2003) i "eMOTIVe" (2004), które rozeszły się na świecie w łącznym nakładzie aż 5 milionów egzemplarzy.
