| Acker Bilk was part of the boom in traditional jazz that swept the United Kingdom in the late
1950s features his hits "Summer Set", performed by his ensemble "The Paramount Jazz B&",
& "Stranger on the Shore" which went to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart
making him the first British artist to have an American No. 1 making him an international star.
Described as "Great Master of Clarinet", Acker Bilk was, & still is just as important as
American jazzmen like Benny Goodman or Artie Shaw. Truly, the glory that is Acker Bilk
transcends all ages & all manner of music.
