This is a best of' collection (including many rare tracks) to mark 25 years of AND ALSO THE TREES' filmic music and dark, romantic poetic lyrics. When, on 12th January 1980, the young 'And Also The Trees' made their first live performance, it was unfathomable to think it would be the first step of a journey that would last for 25 years.Established in a small rural village & inspired by the ideology of a developing post-punk movement, they were, unlike their more urban contemporaries, influenced almost exclusively by the landscape & history of the rural environment that surrounded them.Their first releases reflected those early, tentative roots but it was not until the mid 80s that AATT truly found their identity & accordingly an audience enraptured by the dramatic, poetical nature of their work.
