Originally released in August 1994, it is the first Dinosaur Jr album not to feature Murph on drums, who is replaced by vocalist and guitarist J.Mascis. Although the album received a mixed response from the press it proved to be their most commercially successful album charting in the US Billboard Chart and across Europe.
Without A Sound is definitely a great Dinosaur Jr album, the songs reflecting the turmoil in Mascis personal life, 'Feel The Pain' a point in case, with its lyric ' I feel the pain of everyone, then I feel nothing".
