| Cztery lata po bardzo ambitnym "The Sensual World" Kate Bush sprezentowała światu album "The Red Shoes". Wydana w 1993 roku płyta miała za towarzysza film "The Line, the Cross and the Curve", w którym zagrała słynna aktorka Miranda Richardson. Z albumu pochodzi singlowa, świetna piosenka "Rubberband Girl". Brzmienie to dzieło Kate. Do sesji zaprosiła ona paru znakomitych instrumentalistów, chociażby Prince'a, Jeffa Becka, Erica Claptona i Gary'ego Brookera. Orkiestracje napisał Michael Kamen. Po wydaniu "The Red Shoes" Kate Bush zamilkła na 12 długich lat.
