| The Golden Striker Trio is led by the iconic bassist Ron Carter and also includes the stellar talents of pianist Mulgrew Miller and guitarist Russell Malone. This superb concert recording was captured in 2010 at the Jazzaldia Festival in San Sebastian on the final day of a two week European tour. The limited deluxe edition includes a bonus DVD of all the tracks on the CD plus one extra track, "Laverne Walk" and a 20 track audio sampler.
The group, which Ron Carter first put together for an album recorded for Blue Note in 2003, takes its name from a composition by pianist and Modern Jazz Quartet co-founder John Lewis. [...more...]
