Workin' is the third in a series of four albums featuring the classic : Davis (trumpet), (tenor sax), (piano), and (drums). Like its predecessors and, Workin' is the product of not one -as many would claim -but two massively productive recording sessions during May and October of 1956, respectively. As a bonus to this classic album, we have added the complete LP The Musings of Miles, a previous effort in a quartet format that also featured Red Garland on piano and Philly Joe Joes on drums (plus the great Oscar Pettiford on bass). The set contains four standards, a blues titled "Green Haze" and Miles' tune "I Didn't", which was the trumpeter's humorous response to Thelonious Monk's "Well You Needn't".
