If there ever was an enigma within the realm of death metal, Australia's PORTAL have not only defined themselves as the most bizarre and frightening entity within death metal, but have also made an explicit reputation as the death metal band to take said genre's blueprint and just twist and invert it around to create an aesthetic that no other death metal band in existence have even come closed to paralleling. It was through Profound Lore Records which brought more awareness to the intimidating force that is Portal, by re-issuing the limited debut album "Seepia" during the label's growing inception, and then bringing to the world the band's "Outre" follow-up in which many took notice.
