While on their last album "Commandment" SIX FEET UNDER created the commandments of death metal, this time around they are playing with the rituals of death. "Death Rituals" is their eighth studio album, and it shows king growler Chris Barnes and his men on the way back to old virtues: lead-heavy grooves, evil riffs, mean solos and obviously the unmistakable, animal-like voice of the dreadlocked frontman make for a headbanging experience of the first degree. You can tell that the Floridians took more time to record "Death Rituals" than they usually do. The songs are better arranged, structured in a more dramatical manner, thus getting to the point quicker and more effectively. [...more...] |
