Original trilogy of 'Star Wars' films written by George Lucas. In 'Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope' (1977), on discovering a secret message hidden inside a droid that his family have bought, young farmhand Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) becomes involved with a band of fearless rebels as they try to take on the might of the Empire, led by the evil Emperor and Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader (Dave Prowse). Along the way he befriends Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) and roguish space pilot Han Solo (Harrison Ford) as he sets off on a quest to save Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher).
