He worked as a session guitartist for Alice Cooper, The Pointer Sisters and Cheap Treak, amongst others, but for Steve Lukather fame came when he started playing with Toto. In 1989 he went out on his own, which resulted in a number of solo albums. His third album is the quiet and serene 'Luke'.
