Forerunners of the "Madchester" scene of the late 1980s which spawned such bands as The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and James, The Chameleons laid the early foundations of what was to become a music revolution. Formed in 1981 the band's diverse sound, stage persona and musical message set the tone for a new generation of groups. A personal favourite of legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel, the group consisted of Mark Burgess (vocals and bass), guitarists Dave Fielding and Reg Smithies and drummer John Lever. Filmed at the Camden Palace in 1984 as part of the "Live From London" series, this concert captured the band in their prime and features the hits In Shreds, Paper Tigers and Here Today.
