Carmen Cavallaro (1913-1989) became one of the most renowned stars of the so called ""light music"" genre. After forming his own 5-piece band in1939, his popularity grew and his group expanded into a 14-piece orchestra, releasing some nineteen albums over the years, and attracting large audiences in concert halls and prestige venues like the New York's Waldorf-Astoria, Chicago's Palmer House and Los Angeles' Coconut Grove.
