| A bonafide rock'n'roll legend, Bo Diddleyexploded onto the music scene in 1955 with his signature shuffling rhythm, electrifying showmanship and a string of US R&B hits. A huge influence on the blues-worshipping UK bands of the 1960s, his songs were covered by everyone from The Rolling Stones to The Who. In the 1970s he was invited on tour by The Clash, the 1980s saw him perform with Eric Clapton and Tom Petty, and in recent years he's been cited as a progenitor of a new generation of bands such as the White Stripes and the Black Keys. When he passed away, Voice Of America commented "his influence was so widespread that it's hard to imagine what rock'n'rollwould have sounded like without him". [...więcej...]
