For the better part of the decade, one could make the assertion that San Francisco's LUDICRA (christened as metal's most underrated band by respected metal blog Invisible Oranges) have been one of, if not the most respected metal band within the Bay Area's underground metal scene, the one metal scene to emerge from America that has proven itself to have the most artistic fervor amongst the many musicians who dwell within it. LUDICRA were one of the first bands to help bring the Bay Area black metal movement more to the forefront (alongside bands like Weakling) as they were one of the first bands within the San Francisco metal scene to fuse black metal elements (more or less inspired by the second wave of Norwegian black metal) and combine them with punk (since some of LUDICRA's core members come from a strong punk background), traditional metal, and even moments of neo-folk.
